{"id":13545,"date":"2019-07-05T17:21:58","date_gmt":"2019-07-05T17:21:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/?p=13545"},"modified":"2019-07-05T17:21:58","modified_gmt":"2019-07-05T17:21:58","slug":"brickbuilt-numbers-technique","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/?p=13545","title":{"rendered":"Brickbuilt Numbers Technique"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This is a useful design that I used in my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/?p=10910\">08 Nighthawk<\/a> build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s all based around SNOT connections using headlight bricks and brick modified with stud. A square of four headlight bricks makes the first core section. Bley is the filler color in this example, with white being used for the actual lines of the numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Which will connect to a second square of headlight bricks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A few 1&#215;1 bricks with either a tile or plate, depending on which direction they face, are added next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/3-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"481\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the bottom of the two digit number set is a 1&#215;10 plate with various 1&#215;2 plates above it. Everything under the 1&#215;10 plate is optional, and is just how I incorporated this into my SHIP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/4-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then all the previously built assemblies can be attached to each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/5-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The top half of the numbers use 1&#215;1 brick with stud rather than headlight bricks. Since 1&#215;2 tiles have no center tube they work perfectly in this situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/6-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Some similar parts combinations are used for several more modules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Together these make up the top half of the numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And at the very top everything is locked together with a few more 1&#215;10 plates, and 1&#215;6 and 1&#215;4 tile. All together this makes the model 8 studs long from the tip of the cheese to the tiles on the opposite side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As should be apparent, I based the numbers format after digital displays and you could easily use this technique for any numbers by simply varying which tiles\/plates are white.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks for reading, and feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions about the design!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a useful design that I used in my 08 Nighthawk build.
