{"id":13656,"date":"2019-07-22T19:37:41","date_gmt":"2019-07-22T19:37:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/?p=13656"},"modified":"2019-07-22T19:37:41","modified_gmt":"2019-07-22T19:37:41","slug":"furniture-tutorial-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/?p=13656","title":{"rendered":"Furniture Tutorial #20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Our latest furniture guide covers a bookshelf, elegant vase, chair, and side table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike most of our book shelves this one has just a single shelf. 1&#215;2 brackets are used at the very bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/1-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And then a series of 1&#215;2 plates (or jumper plates) and tiles are used for the books themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/2-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The 1&#215;2 brackets give a slight lip in front of the books which helps hold them in place. 1&#215;1 round plates and round bricks work well for the side posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/3-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next jumper plates are added to the front of the brackets, and on top of the 1&#215;4 plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/4-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/5-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Add whatever little knick-knacks you like to the top of the shelf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/6-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Second is the nifty vase design John came up with. Combining the 2&#215;2 cone with a 2&#215;2 inverted dome gives a very nice shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/7-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And the inkwell elements makes it easy to attach the model to a studs up floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/8-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This chair design incorporates cowhorns to make the back of the seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/9-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/10-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The fourth and final design uses 2&#215;2 brackets with 2&#215;2 tiles to make the thin walls of the side table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/11-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A 1&#215;2 brick with 1&#215;2 jumper connect the brackets and will allow a 2&#215;3 plate to go on top.
