A relatively new piece,  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bricklink.com\/v2\/catalog\/catalogitem.page?P=32828#T=C\">Bar 1L with 1 x 1 Round Plate with Hollow Stud<\/a>, is the essential element of the design. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A simple 4&#215;4 base starts the column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next one 2&#215;2 plate modified with stud and three 1&#215;2 plates are added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then the plate with bar element is used in combination with 1&#215;1 round plate with hole to give additional SNOT connection points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Behind those goes a 2&#215;4 brick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Followed by another layer of bricks, this time locking in the plate with bar elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You need four plates between each of the round plate with bar and 1&#215;1 round plate with hole assemblies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Again a 2&#215;4 brick is used at the back, and a 1&#215;2 plate at the front. At this point there is a SNOT connection point for each of the column sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next it&#8217;s time to incorporate a 2&#215;2 plate modified with stud again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Surrounded by 1&#215;2 bricks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then it&#8217;s back to adding the plate with bar and 1&#215;1 round plate combination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And some more bricks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The same pattern can be repeated for as tall as you want the column to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/13.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This example is only 8 studs high, so this is the final layer of plate with bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/14.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Meaning it&#8217;s time to add the column components! This assembly of tiles and plates goes on the front two studs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/15.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The 1&#215;1 round plates are necessary to fit around layers where the plate with bar elements are at an angle. 1&#215;8 tiles go on the sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/16.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/17.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/18.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Two more 1&#215;8 tiles are added on the near side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/19.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>And then it&#8217;s a simple matter of capping the column with 2&#215;4 plates and tiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/20.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This gives a super rugged column, and the basic technique of using plate with bar to attach SNOT elements could be useful in a variety of situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s what the design looks like in a finished build:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/?p=13388\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brickbuilt.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/overview-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"481\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks for reading!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a new technique I came up with for my King or Puppet? build.
