In this tutorial we’ll take a look at how to build a stone wall like the one used here:<\/p>\n

It’s all based off of half stud offsets.
\nFor a small example I will show a simple section of wall.<\/p>\n

The 1×1, 1×2, and 1×3 plates will be used to place bley blocks of stone at an offset, while the 1×2 jumper plates attach 1×1 sections of dark bley between the blocks.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

These bley parts are stacked to make three blocks.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This picture shows how the standard plates give a half stud offset to the bley blocks by being attached into the central tube of the plates.<\/p>\n

2×2 jumper plates atop the bley sections reverse the offset of the blocks.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

So that another 1×10 plate in dark bley can be added. To give the proper stone block look, you’ll want to change where the vertical seams are between each layer of blocks.<\/p>\n

With this setup I could do that simply by mirroring the block placement of the first layer. Besides that the same assemblies as before are repeated.<\/p>\n

You can continue adding more layers, or cap it off with a few more dark bley plates and tiles.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

If you’re low of the needed jumper plates and plates in dark bley and bley, you can use filler colors inside the building like I did with this watchtower.\"4\"<\/p>\n

A layer of dark bley plates with more jumper plates sets up the next layer:

Then it’s back to adding more bricks again:<\/p>\n

By alternating where you place the ‘bricks,’ you can achieve a nice stone wall effect.<\/p>\n

You can also this technique for a wall only 2 studs deep, and visible from both sides:<\/p>\n

Again, some dark bley plates, and jumpers set up the next level:<\/p>\n

Because the wall is only a stud deep for the ‘mortar’ section, 1×1 or 1×2 plates are used to offset the ‘bricks’.<\/p>\n
