This Nexo Knights set retails for $9.99, and includes 93 parts. The two minifigures included are a Royal Knight and Crust Smasher, while the catapult for which the set is named makes up the main feature.<\/p>\n

On the front of the box is some nice artwork showing the Royal Knight courageously making a one man attack on the Chaos Catapult.<\/p>\n

Working parts are highlighted on the back, as both the catapult and crossbow do shoot.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

An actual size picture of the Royal Knight occupies one end of the package.<\/p>\n

Upon opening the box, you find a small instructions manual, 2 bags of parts, and 2 technic bricks.<\/p>\n

Here is a look at all the parts included.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

These are some of the most appealing pieces, with the gold 1×1 pyramids being our personal favorite parts in the set.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

Moving onto the figs next, both of them feature plenty of detailed printing and some nice accessories. The functional crossbow is an incredibly fun weapon, that packs a solid punch. While the blue tones of the Royal Knight’s armor make them less useful for standard medieval settings, his silver arms do offer a lot of potential use in other traditional castle themes.<\/p>\n

With their armor removed, the full printing can be seen. The Crust Smasher fig looks quite threatening, and works well for a dark fantasy style.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

Both heads are dual sided: though the knight’s expression doesn’t change much, and Crust Smasher’s continues the lava look.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

Each figure only has one weapon, and no shields are provided.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

Time to build the Chaos Catapult! It starts off with a rugged frame utilizing the 1×10 technic bricks for the main skeleton.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

Some SNOT details are added both to the front and sides with teeth being the predominant aesthetic.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

Next is the main function of the set, with rubber connectors used to provide the spring for the catapult arm. This works extraordinarily well, and is way more fun to play with than the standard ‘whack one end’ design.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

With some trans orange parts and eyes added, you can already start to see the face develop.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

The upper jaw and crossbow mounting finish off the build. Interestingly, the Crust Smasher sits right inside the mouth of the Chaos Catapult.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

The set includes a few nice extra parts.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

In the back of the instructions booklet is a neat spread showing off other Nexo Knight sets from wave 1.<\/p>\n

\"1<\/p>\n

Playability: 9.5\/10 The catapult is incredibly fun to play with, and launches 2×2 round bricks 5-6 feet! A few extra weapons would be nice, to allow for more customizing of the minifigures.
\nDesign: 7\/10 While fairly ferocious looking, the only noteworthy design feature for me, is the catapult function.
\nPrice: 8\/10 Not a bad deal even at full price, and as the Nexo Knight sets are often on sale, you can likely find it for a few dollars cheaper than the listed $10.<\/p>\n

Overall: 8.2\/10 A good set if you’re into fantasy building, but for realistic castle builders it’s less useful.<\/p>\n
