For the month of April we asked Patrick B.<\/a> to share some of his clever animal designs. He kindly contributed a tutorial covering a wide range of creatures.<\/p>\n

“Hello everybody!<\/em><\/p>\n

Today I will be showing you a selection of animals I made in the last months.<\/em>
\n1) Goat<\/em><\/p>\n

The first animal I want to show you is a goat. For the feet you only need a piece of a \u201chose\u201d so that you can connect the \u201cMechanical claw clips\u201d with them.<\/em><\/p>\n

2) Squirrel<\/em><\/p>\n

For the squirrel I want to present you two different versions. For the first one you only need one feet from the Faun of the CMF series 15, a reddish \u201cbrown clip vertical\u201d and a 1×1 \u201cround plate\u201d in reddish brown.
\nFor the other version the most important part is the \u201ccape plastic\u201d piece in brown, that part is from some older Classic Castle sets.<\/em><\/p>\n

3) Stag<\/em><\/p>\n

The steg is one of my favorite animals I made so far. Unfortunately I couldn\u00b4t find my \u201cPlate Modified 1×1 with Clip Light \u2013 Thick Ring\u201d in brown at the moment, so I used some in black instead. The antlers are inspired by Jonas Kramm, who made an stag some years ago in his Battle of the Five Armies creation.<\/em><\/p>\n

By changing just a few parts you can also make a deer, you only have to remove the antlers and add a 1×1 plate in reddish brown under the 1×1 reddish brown \u201cTile with clip\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

4) Duck<\/em><\/p>\n

Those ducks are very simple, you only need a \u201cheadlight brick\u201d and two minifigure hands. The \u201cheadlight bricks\u201d work very good, because there are two different possibilities to pose the heads.<\/em><\/p>\n

5) Stork<\/em><\/p>\n

Let\u00b4s continue with a stork. The most important part is a white \u201cBrick modified with studs on 4 sides\u201d and a \u201c3L Bar\u201d in white. For the wings you can use two 1×2 tiles, but there some other options too like for instance croissants (the idea is inspired by Simon NH) or 2×1 \u201cSlope curved\u201d pieces. Furthermore you can also replace the \u201c3L Bar\u201d with a \u201cSkeleton Arm\u201d for example.<\/em><\/p>\n

6) Swan<\/em><\/p>\n

Another animal I\u00b4m using quite often in my creations is a swan. The technique is quite simple too, you only need one \u201cBrick modified with studs on 4 sides\u201d, one \u201cClip Plate Horizontal\u201d, one minifigure hand and two 1×2 \u201cCurved Slopes\u201d. Instead of the \u201cCurved Slopes\u201d you can also use croissants or 1×2 tiles.<\/em><\/p>\n

7) Bird<\/em><\/p>\n

Moreover I want to show you a technique for a bird. The only parts you need are one \u201cTile with a Clip\u201d, one \u201cClip plate vertical\u201d, one\u00a0\u201cclaw\u201d and one\u00a0\u201cfeather\u201d piece, which is from some older Western sets. Next to the version in white I also made one in blue as an example.<\/em><\/p>\n

8) Hedgehog & Turtle<\/em><\/p>\n

For that two animals I nearly used the same parts, a 1×1 \u201cRound Plate\u201d and a \u201cPlate Modified 1×1 with Clip Light \u2013 Thick Ring\u201d. The only difference is the hair piece you need for the hedgehog and the helmet from the \u201cToys Story Green Army Man\u201d minifigure for the turtle.<\/em><\/p>\n

9) Mouse\u00a0& Duck<\/em><\/p>\n

Those animals are some other ideas as an example.<\/em><\/p>\n

10) Porg<\/em><\/p>\n

Finally I also want to present you a version of a Porg I made some days ago. The head piece is from the official Porg and I also used a small \u201ccone\u201d piece for the body. Unfortunately those tiles aren\u00b4t connected with the body, but it\u00b4s more or less stable on a flat surface.<\/em><\/p>\n
