This is a roof design that I have used a few times now, mainly in my Elven-styled builds. It works nicely for small buildings or towers, and is very simple to construct.
A 6×6 plate provides a sturdy base for the roof. Next add 2x2x3 corner slopes at each corner, in whatever color your specific roof will be – in this case, dark blue. In the center of the 6×6 plate, stack three 2×2 bricks on top of each other.
Next we’ll add the sides of the roof. A 1×2 hinge brick is placed on top of a regular 1×2 brick to get the hinge at the proper height, and then you just add a 2×2 plate and the 4×4 wedges to finish the assembly.
To cap it we’ll use 2×4 triple wedges, two 1×2 plates, and a 2×2 tile.
And there you have it! A compact and elegant roof for small towers or other buildings.
