Furniture Tutorial #19

Here is yet another furniture guide covering four medieval designs.

First is a large book case I designed for use in my Royal Dance scene. Some plates and tiles are connected to start.

1×2 brackets are then added along with some 1×4 elements.

1x2x2 bricks make the side walls of the bookshelf, while masonry bricks and 1×2 tile on their sides are used for the first stack of books.

The books fit smoothly over the 1×4 tile, and are held in place for now by the lip of the brackets. Two 1×2 bricks and a 2×4 tile finish off this layer.

And then more bricks set up the second shelf.

Next is a layer of plates and another book assembly.

Another layer of plates brings the shelf level with the books.

And then a 2×4 tile is used again to set up the third and final shelf.

A 1×6 brick goes along the back of the book shelf, with 1×1 bricks at either end.

At the top a final layer of bricks is added and then a 1×4 bracket.

Then comes the unique section. Some 1×8 plates and 1×4 lattices make for an elaborate set of doors on the bookshelf.

With the 1×1 round plates serving as handles.

A combination of plates, curved slopes, and cheese slopes makes for an elaborately carved top to the bookshelf.

Second is a small table design is made of just three parts.

Useful in a variety of situations, I think this design is one of our neatest tables yet.

Next is a simple bed Isaac came up with for one of his Elves models.

The 2×6 plate modified with studs makes it easy to add jumper plates as drawers under the bed.

While a stickered 2×4 tile is used for the covers.

And the last design is a lantern holder.

So there are four more designs that you can hopefully find useful in your own models! If you enjoyed this tutorial, you may like our past furniture tutorials as well.
