Brickbuilt Numbers Technique

This is a useful design that I used in my 08 Nighthawk build.

It’s all based around SNOT connections using headlight bricks and brick modified with stud. A square of four headlight bricks makes the first core section. Bley is the filler color in this example, with white being used for the actual lines of the numbers.

Which will connect to a second square of headlight bricks.

A few 1×1 bricks with either a tile or plate, depending on which direction they face, are added next.

At the bottom of the two digit number set is a 1×10 plate with various 1×2 plates above it. Everything under the 1×10 plate is optional, and is just how I incorporated this into my SHIP.

Then all the previously built assemblies can be attached to each other.

The top half of the numbers use 1×1 brick with stud rather than headlight bricks. Since 1×2 tiles have no center tube they work perfectly in this situation.

Some similar parts combinations are used for several more modules.

Together these make up the top half of the numbers.

And at the very top everything is locked together with a few more 1×10 plates, and 1×6 and 1×4 tile. All together this makes the model 8 studs long from the tip of the cheese to the tiles on the opposite side.

As should be apparent, I based the numbers format after digital displays and you could easily use this technique for any numbers by simply varying which tiles/plates are white.

Thanks for reading, and feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions about the design!
