Eventually Lyra’s collection outgrew her space in the monastery. And she realized it would do much more good if available to all who had the passion to read and discover. Besides books, she had acquired plenty of valuable items in her many expeditions. So financing the project was not an issue.
Lyra’s Library became a vaunted hall of knowledge, and new scholars there were always astonished at the magical manipulation of books and papers dexterously handled as the veteran Portalborne worked.
