Leanan Manor

This was built as part of the InnovaLUG collab, Ye Old Merry Battleground, for Brickfair Virginia.Check out the full collab here. I enjoyed getting to use some of our new sand green parts, and small castles/manors are always fun to build.

Sir Ruari Leanin leads his men to fight in the battle against the Realm of Vermillion . Meanwhile, some Forestmen take advantage of his leave-taking.

  1. What is the brick link for the piece at the top of the roof on the tower? I love you and your brother’s work. You should make castles like this more often. I’m going to try to build something similar to this.

Sorry if there’s another comment by me above, the link for it didn’t lead to my Pinterest.

    • This part? Thanks for the comment! We do especially enjoy building small castles.

      • Thanks! I want to do something like this, but the cost on Bricklink would be so expensive, and I don’t know how to personalize it. I mean I would want to have my own twist to it and change some details. Do you or John have any tips? Do you think I should make a manor, or something else? What pieces should I order and in your order and in what quantities? One more question, why do you use crazy leaf and tudor house color? Thanks for your time!

        • I would recommend acquiring pieces in relatively small chunks over time. Small bricks, plates, and slopes in neutral tones are always useful. Start with some small builds, like cottages, small interiors, and little landscapes. This will allow you to figure out your own style, and what types of parts you use most. Get an account on flickr, and find some LEGO groups, those provide plenty of inspiration, and you can start getting feedback on your own models. Classic-castle.com, and eurobricks are two LEGO forums that are also useful in those regards. I hope those tips are helpful, if you have more questions, just let us know.
